Some light snow is expected overnight tonight in Evanston and into the early morning hours of Saturday.
James Maiworm of the city’s Public Works Agency says light snow should begin falling after midnight and end around sunrise Saturday morning. He expects a half inch to an inch of snow from the storm.
After the snow ends Saturday morning, Maiworm says, “The sky should clear and become partly sunny which given the intensity of the sun should melt what snow we receive. A high temperature in the low 40’s is expected.”
And a return to a spring-like pattern is expected next week.
Public Works will have a crew on standby tonight, he says, because the snow is expected to accumulate on the pavement. Crews will begin treating roads as soon as conditions require.
