The corner of Church and Dodge will be home this summer to a new, weekly market beginning June 14

To be held Saturday mornings through October from 7a.m. to 1p.m., the West End Market will offer fresh produce along with baked goods, crafts, and other non-food items by local vendors.

The burgeoning market is the result of efforts by community members and volunteers, and responds to a longtime wish of 5th Ward Alderwoman Delores Holmes.

The West End Market aims to sell fresh food at affordable prices at a time when food prices, along with concerns about access to safe and healthy food, are on the rise. The Market also engages the community by offering vendors of unique, locally-produced wares a new point of sale.

Volunteers and vendors are still needed to help the West End Market succeed! For more information about the Market, and how you can help, visit the market website at, or call Susan at 847-624-2871.
