Charges were filed against an Evanston man today after police say they turned up narcotics and a loaded .38 caliber revolver in a search of his home in the 1100 block of Sherman Avenue last week.

Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott says the department’s special operations group executed a warrant last Wednesday and found 600 grams of marijuana, about 6 grams of crack cocaine and $1,300 in cash, as well as the gun.

Parrott says police didn’t find Christopher L. Rucker, 26, of 1119 Sherman Ave., at home that day, but he turned himself in on Monday.

Rucker, who police say is a convicted felon, now faces felony charges of drug possession and possession with intent to deliver as well as a variety of weapons charges.

He’s scheduled to appear in Skokie district court at 9 a.m. on July 17.
