It was a fine day for a stroll along Evanston’s lakefront today, and hundreds of people turned out in the 80 degree temperatures to experience newly rebuilt sections of the pathway that include a wider paved path and new lighting and benches.

Planners hope that the new paths will keep cyclists and pedestrians separated on different pathways. Can’t tell about that yet, because the new pedestrian path hasn’t been completed on this section of the lakefront between Greenleaf and Greenwood streets. But everyone, including the pooches, seemed to be having a good time.
