Evanston Fire Department Shift Chief David Arreguin plans to retire next week.

Arreguin started his career with the Evanston Fire Department on April 21, 1980, and has served the department for over 35 years.

The Fire Department will hold a retirement ceremony for Arreguin on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 4:30 p.m. in the Hicks Training Room at fire headquarters, 909 Lake St. The public is welcome to attend.

“Shift Chief Arreguin has been an integral and influential member of our department’s command staff for the last decade, Fire Chief Gregt Klaiber said. “His knowledge and expertise will be missed.  I want to thank Dave for all he has done for the Evanston Fire Department and the City of Evanston throughout his distinguished career.”
