Roofers working on the front porch of a home at 1016 Greenwood St. in Evanston reportedly touched off a fire in the house early this afternoon.

Fire crews managed to put out the fire without much apparent damage to the outside of the home, but they had to open up walls on the first and second floors of the home to make sure the fire hadn’t spread.

There were no immediate reports of injuries from the fire.
