The First Congregational Church of Evanston has named Jonathan Shotwell as its new director of Christian learning and outreach.

He will serve as a contact point for families with children, a resource for Sunday school teachers, a communicator within and outside the church, and a provider of creative and compassionate learning opportunities.
Shotwell previously served as director of youth ministries at two Chicago-area churches, led wilderness camps in Michigan, and was a lead teacher for Camp WaNaGo at the McGaw YMCA in Evanston.

He is a graduate of Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is currently studying at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston.

The First Congregational Church of Evanston (UCC) is located at Hinman Avenue and Grove Street.
