First Northern Credit Union has completed construction on its new, larger location at 1705 Sherman Ave. in Evanston.

It completed its move last Friday from its former location at 726 Clark St. to the new space in the one-time Lytton’s Department Store that most recently was the site of a Bank of America branch.

Bank officials say the new location has two 24-hour Co-Op Network ATMs that will allow shared branch deposits, expanded service space, and a community room that is available for groups and city residents.

The branch banking hours will remain 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday; 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

First Northern has been serving Northwestern University, Evanston residents and employees since 2003.  A not-for-profit institution, FNCU offers standard financial products such as checking accounts, Visa credit cards, auto loans, and first mortgages as well as remote deposit capture, online banking, and bill pay.
