Tickets are now on sale for “Crowns,” by Regina Taylor, the third and final play of Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre’s 2018 Summertime Season.
Performances will take place Aug. 11 through 26 on Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St., in Evanston. The Aug. 11 performance is sold out.
“Crowns” is a gospel musical that reveals the story of African American women and the hats they wear to church. Each hat holds a story of a wedding, a funeral and a baptism as the women share stories of how they moved through life’s struggles.
Tickets are $15 in advance online at fjtheatre.com and at Evanston community centers. Tickets may be purchased at the door on the performance day for $25. Seniors and students with ID can purchase tickets at a discounted price of $15 at the door only.
