Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre will hold auditions for its summer production of “From the Mississippi Delta” from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 14.

Auditions are open to African-American women age 18 and older who have singing and acting talent.

Auditions will be held at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St.

Rehearsals will take place weekday evenings starting June 13; show dates are weekends, July 8-24.

Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre is a municipally-supported theatre program. “From the Mississippi Delta” will be directed by Tim Rhoze, the Theatre’s Artistic Director. Delta is an autobiographical work by the late playwright, Dr. Endesha Ida Mae Holland. It traces her journey through poverty and abuse in the Jim Crow South, activism in the civil rights movement, academic achievement, and her ultimate triumph as a Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright.
