The National Weather Service is predicting continuing warming temperatures for Evanston today and as much as three-quarters of an inch of rain this afternoon and tonight.

City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz says the rain — combined with all the snow and ice on the ground, frozen soil and blocked drainage outlets citywide — could lead to flooding.

He says city crews are working now to clear storm drains citywide of snow and ice and that the work will continue into the evening.

Residents are advised to call 311 with any reports of flooded streets.  311 will be open extended hours this evening.
