The National Weather Service says Evanston could be in for some minor flooding this morning as showers and thunderstorms continue across the area.

We could get up to an inch-and-a-quarter of rain by the time the storms end later in the morning.

The weather service says that because the ground is frozen, much of the rain will immediately run off and cause ponding of water in low-lying and poorly-drained areas.

Motorists should use caution and watch for standing water on roadways.
