A robber tried to hijack a food delivery man’s 2015 Toyota at Seward Street and Sherman Avenue, but he met resistance as the victim yelled for police and was assisted by a neighbor, who called the cops. This among the stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.

ROBBERY

Seward at Sherman

A robber attempted to take his victim’s keys and 2015 Toyota at 8:48 p.m. Wednesday at Seward Street and Sherman Avenue. The 51-year-old victim, a food delivery man, fought the robber and yelled for help. A neighbor responded, called the police, and the robber fled. The victim sustained minor hand injuries, but declined medical attention, police said.

BATTERY

Mulford at Custer

Randy R. Pryor, 26, of 2309 Emerson St., was arrested at Mulford Street and Custer Avenue at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Feb. 3 at 9 a.m.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

2289 Howard

Orkhan Ganiyev, 36, of 6701 N. Ashland Ave., was arrested at 2289 Howard St. at 8:08 p.m. Wednesday and charged with trespassing on real property. He is due in court on Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m.

GRAFFITI

1615 Emerson

Muhammad Amin Chattha, 29, of 8315 Keating Ave., Skokie, was arrested at 1615 Emerson St. on Wednesday at 7:18 p.m. and charged with graffiti. He is due in court on Feb. 17 at 9 a.m.

SHOTS HEARD

Emerson at Dodge

Gunshots were reported at Emerson Street and Dodge Avenue at 4:30 a.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

THEFT

635 Chicago

David Renteria, 32, of 472 St. Louis Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 635 Chicago Ave. at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday and charged with retail theft.

2100 Keeney

A catalytic converter was removed from a 2000 Jeep in the 2100 block of Keeney St. between midnight and 8:34 a.m. yesterday.

2400 Cowper

A catalytic converter was removed from a 2003 Chevrolet in the 2400 block of Cowper Avenue at 12:32 p.m. yesterday.

600 Chicago

Medication was stolen from the Walgreens Pharmacy in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue at about 7:40 a.m. Tuesday.

2100 Green Bay

Merchandise was stolen from the Walgreens Pharmacy in the 2100 block of Green Bay Road at 4:35 p.m. yesterday.

1100 Michigan

A package was stolen from the front porch of a home in the 1100 block of Michigan Avenue at 1:36 p.m. Tuesday..

1700 McDaniel

Someone tried to steal a package from the porch of a home in the 1700 block of McDaniel Avenue at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.

100 Callan

A package was stolen from an apartment common area in the 100 block of Callan Avenue between 8 a.m. on Jan. 15 and 12:04 p.m. yesterday.

200 Ridge

A package was stolen from an apartment common area in the 200 block of Ridge Avenue at 6:30 p.m. yesterday.

TRAFFIC

208 Dodge

Youbode Joway, 24, of 6330 N. Oakley Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 208 Dodge Ave. at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and charged with a traffic violation. A court date has been set for Feb. 22 at 10:30 a.m.
