Personal chef, caterer, and food blogger Lisa Waldschmidt will demonstrate and provide samples of foods kids love to eat at Evanston’s farmers market Saturday.

She will be this week’s featured chef at the Friends of the Evanston Farmers Markets tent in the southwest corner of the market, located beside the Maple Avenue public parking garage and behind the Hilton Garden Inn Evanston.

She will be preparing fresh pasta salad, to which kids will be encouraged to add their choice of herbs, veggies, cheese, and seasonings.

Assisting Waldschmidt will be teachers from Evanston/Skokie District 65 schools who will lead the kids in playing Market Bingo, with tasty prizes donated by the farmers.

The demonstration and sampling will occur from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Friends tent.
