The season may be over for the traditional farmers markets, but Evanston consumers of fresh foods are already looking forward to the winter market, to be held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ecology Center from Dec. 1 through April 27.

There may not be much produce grown in the area during the winter months, but the Evanston Farmer & Artisan Food Market, as it is called, will also include a variety of meats, artisan breads, pastries, honey, and eggs.

New this year will be prepared foods, such as crepes and tamales.

The Ecology Center is located in the Ladd Arboretum at 2024 McCormick Blvd., with convenient free parking across Bridge Street and the surrounding residential streets.
