Theft

2400 Howard

A shoplifter stole food from a grocery store in the 2400 block of Howard Street between 6:40 p.m. and 7 p.m. yesterday.

Assault

2001 Emerson

Kevin R. Pegues, 50, of 2001 Emerson St., was arrested at that address at 4:58 p.m. yesterday and charged with aggravated assault and battery. He is due in court on May 4 at 10:30 a.m.
