food-truck-fest-110727

Evanston’s Brummel Park features two events Thursday evening to satisfy food and entertainment desires.

Starting at 5:30 p.m. it’s Food Truk Fest featuring specials from four food truck vendors. Then at 7:30 p.m. there’ll be music from the band Expo ’76 in the park at Brummel Street and Elmwood Avenue as part of the city’s Starlight Concert Series.

Dining options will include food from Evanston’s first and only food truck, Hummingbird Kitchen, as well as  Chicago-based Sweet Ride Chi, Taquero Fusion and TamaleSpaceship.

Expo ’76 is made up of four lifers who don’t need to be in another band, but still can’t quite help themselves.

Their repertoire ranges from ‘70s AM radio ear candy into walloping road-house beer-guzzling dance tunes.
