Northwestern University police say a female students was robbed in the 800 block of Foster Street in Evanston shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday night.


Northwestern University police say a female students was robbed in the 800 block of Foster Street in Evanston shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday night.

Police say the the student was walking on Foster when she was approached by a woman who stepped on the student’s foot and demanded the student’s purse. The student refused to give up her purse but handed over $25. The robber then fled west on Foster.

The student was not injured.

The robber was described as a dark-skinned black female with a heavy build, 5-7, in her late teens or early 20s, wearing a zip-up dark jacket and dark jeans.
