The Chicago Force, a women’s full tackle football team, play their last home game of the regular season at 5 p.m. Saturday at Evanston Township High School’s Lazier Field
The women will be going into this game with an undefeated record of 6-0 and with hopes of making it all the way to the 2012 Championship to be played at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh and broadcast on ESPN.
Saturday the Force will be playing the Indy Crash of Indianapolis.
The Force has had a strong season; keeping the point difference high and working hard even when odds were against them. In their last game the Chicago Force traveled to Cleveland, Ohio to take on the Cleveland Fusion where they won 48-0 even though they were missing eight starters. The week before that the Force beat out the West Michigan Mayhem with a score of 54-0.
John Konecki, Head Coach, says there is no time to rest before playoffs, “Some components of the game went well but we will need to continue to make improvements in order to compete at the highest levels of the WFA. Sometimes it seems that this team will get a comfortable lead and then go into cruise control. We need to strive to put together an entire game of perfect play.”
The Chicago Force is a full tackle women’s football team that formed in 2002. The Force is part of the 62 team Women’s Football Alliance, and competes in Division 6 of the National Conference.
Adult Tickets for Saturday’s game are $10, Kids/Students/Seniors are $3.
