An attempt to enter an apartment in the 200 block of Ridge Avenue failed. It was followed by an attempt to enter an adjacent storage area, and that attempt failed as well. These among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

200 Ridge

An attempt to enter an apartment in the 200 block of Ridge Avenue, followed by an attempt to enter an adjacent storage area, failed between 7:15 p.m. and 7:46 p.m. yesterday. The first attempt resulted in a damaged door, while the second attempt damaged the door frame and upper stopper/hinge. Nothing was taken in either attempt.

Theft

2400 Main

Clothing items were taken from a store in the 2400 block of Main Street between 6:51 p.m. Wednesday and 11:40 a.m. yesterday.

1454 Elmwood

Yusuf L. Humphrey, 28, of 6716 S. Saint Lawrence Ave., Chicago, was arrested four times between 4:23 p.m. and 5:05 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft each time. He is due in court on April 26 at 9 a.m. and again at 10:30 a.m.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
