Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday for Maxine Lange, a former alderman of Evanston’s 9th Ward.

Lange died Monday at age 81. She served as alderman from 1971 to 1979 and also worked as a teacher and health care administrator.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation, 303 Dodge Ave.

She’s survived by her husband, Charles, three children and five grandchildren.

The family says that in lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory to the JRC, the Evanston Community Foundation, or Planned Parenthood would be appreciated.
