Police report an 18-year-old man has been treated and released from St. Francis Hospital after being grazed by a gunshot fired by an acquaintance outside Evanston Township High School Friday night.

The Chicago Tribune quotes police as saying the victim, a former student at the school, was in one of two cars that pulled into a parking lot behind the school about 9 p.m. People in both cars got out, the victim was shot, and the assailant’s car sped off.

Police say the shooting apparently was related to an ongoing dispute and was not related to the basketball game that had just concluded elsewhere on the school’s campus.
