A candidate forum will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, as part of the search for a new Evanston 9th Ward alderperson.

The forum will be held in the City Council Chambers at the Civic Center and will also be available on Zoom and on the city’s YouTube channel.

During the forum, candidates who have applied for the position will be interviewed by Mayor Biss. Interested residents may submit questions and/or comments in advance.

Applications for those interested in representing the 9th Ward will remain open through Monday, Feb. 14.

Under state law, the candidate appointed by the mayor and approved by City Council to fill the vacancy will serve until the municipal election in 2023.
