Chef Nicole Pederson of the Found restaurant on Chicago Avenue will demonstrate her culinary skills and distribute samples and recipes to patrons of Evanston’s Farmers Market this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Sponsored by the Friends of Evanston Farmers Markets, Chef Pederson’s appearance will be the first of many this summer that will help market-goers prepare tasty meals from fresh ingredients on sale at the market.

She will be making Squash Blossom Quesadillas with sweet corn, baby squash, pickled beans, and herbed ricotta in the Friends booth at the southwest corner of the market, located adjacent to the Maple Avenue public parking garage and the Hilton Garden Inn.

In coming weeks, the Friends will be showcasing other local chefs, including Nell Funk of Now We’re Cookin’ on July 20, and Sandy Chen of Koi Restaurant on August 10.
