strawberries

Nicole Pederson, chef at Found, the restaurant opened by Amy Morton on Chicago Avenue, will be cooking and handing out samples of shitake mushroom and kohlrabi pancake with Napa cabbage slaw at Evanston’s downtown farmers market Saturday.

Chef Pederson will be performing her magic at the Friends of Evanston Farmers Markets tent in the southwest corner of the market that’s behind the Maple Avenue parking garage and the Hilton Garden Inn Evanston.

She will be cooking and handing out samples between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

This Saturday is one of the last weekends that strawberries will be abundantly available at the market, according to Friends officials.

The market is open each Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. through Nov. 8.
