The Evanston Community Foundation’s Leadership Evanston program is offering a one-day “snapshot” orientation to the community.

The event runs from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm on Thursday, October 21, at the Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave.

Designed to give local residents and Evanston-based employees a broader and deeper knowledge of the community and its issues, Snapshot Evanston provides opportunities to meet with local leaders, delve into current issues and tour the city.

Snapshot Evanston begins with a look back at Evanston’s history. A bus tour of Evanston neighborhoods follows, highlighting major trends of yesterday and today.

Panels of distinguished community leaders, including city government leaders, representatives of the school districts, and experts in economic development, share their expertise and knowledge.

By the end of the day, participants have a better picture of how Evanston works and its strengths and challenges as it moves into the future.
