Jimmie Alford, founder of an Evanston-based consulting group for non-profits, died this morning of a sudden heart attack at his home.
The Alford Group’s president, Thomas Mesaros, announced the death on the company’s website.
Alford founded the consulting group, which has offices in the Chase Bank tower, in 1979. The firm provides advice on fundraising and other activities to non-profit organizations.
Mesaros says Alford “was a visionary, mentor, colleague and inspiration to everyone” in the company.
