The fountain at Fountain Square in downtown Evanston has a purple tinge today leading up to Thursday evening’s Northwestern University pep rally outside the Rotary International building.

The pep rally, starting at 6 p.m., will feature the NU Marching Band and the new city fire truck purchased by the university that’s just arrived from the manufacturer.

The whole Paint Evanston Purple promotion is designed to get more Evanstonians to turn out for Saturday’s Wildcat football contest against Central Michigan University. Half price tickets are available for $17 to city residents.

  1. Paint Evanston

Evanston should spend its money painting the town Orange and Blue. ETHS is Evanston’s community based school, not NWU.
