Four 13-year-olds nabbed for iPhone robbery

Evanston police say four 13-year-olds from Chicago accosted a man near the Davis Street CTA station Saturday evening and stole his iPhone.

Cmdr. Tom Guenther says that officers, alerted to the incident that happened around 6:15 p.m., followed the teens onto the station platform where they were identified and arrested. They’ve been referred to juvenile court for hearings on the robbery charges.

In addition, Guenther says an 18-year-old, Jeronne Wilford, of 7526 N. Winchester in Chicago, was arrested for disorderly conduct after he became involved in a dispute with officers who were taking the juveniles into custody.
