Evanston police arrested four people and seized an assault weapon in a drug raid on an apartment building at 1710 Monroe St. Tuesday.

Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott sayes police seized 115 grams of marijuana, an AR-15 assault rifle and ammunition, about $900 in cash and plastic baggies and a digital scale commonly used for packaging drugs for sale in the raid, which took place about 10:30 a.m.

Demetrius Mason, 32, of 1710 Monroe, now faces several felony gun and drug charges and Brandon A. Wright, 24, of the same address, faces felony drug charges.

Both are scheduled to appear in Skokie district court at 9 a.m. on Feb. 16.

Cojuan D. Ruffin, 36, of 1520 Dempster St., and Precious S. Jobe, 22, of 723 Dodge Ave., were charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. They’re scheduled to appear in Skokie district court at 10:30 a.m. on March. 1.
