Four people were arrested on drug charges and police investigated four shots-fired reports. Those among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Battery

1400 Elmwood
George W. Lytle, 73, 1728 Brown Ave., was arrested and charged with battery at 1454 Elmwood Ave. at 6:21 p.m. Friday and is scheduled to appear in court at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 27.

1400 Howard
Someone was cut with a box cutter in an apartment common area in the 1400 block of Howard Street between 5 a.m. and 12:33 p.m. Sunday.

Burglary

1500 Dobson
Currency was stolen from an unlocked 2003 Saturn in the 1500 block of Dobson St.between 10 a.m. Friday and 8:48 a.m. Saturday.

900 Davis
Someone shattered the front glass door of a convenience store in the 900 block of Davis Street between 4:15 and 4:42 a.m. Sunday and stole cigarettes.

1800 Oak
Someone broke the rear window of a 2014 Honda parked on the street in the 1800 block of Oak Avenue and stole a backpack containing a laptop computer and headphones between midnight and 9:24 a.m. Friday.

700 Brummel
Currency was stolen from an unlocked 2014 Honda parked on the street in the 700 block of Brummel Street between 4:30 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Friday.

Drugs

2300 Emerson
DeJuan T. B. Drew, 31, 1400 Cleveland St., was arrested and charged with manufacture or delivery of cannabis at 2326 Emerson St. at 4:19 p.m. Thursday.

1400 Grey
Throy Bobby Nightingale, 30, 3820 W. Ainslie, 2nd floor, in Chicago, was arrested and charged with the manufacture or delivery of cannabis at 1405 Grey Ave. at 9:16 p.m. Thursday.

300 Dempster
Matthew M. Barry, 34, 24 Steeplechase Drive in Hawthorn Woods, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance at 319 Dempster St. at 1 a.m. this morning.

1405 Grey
Jalil T. Petty, 20, 140 Callan Ave., was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver at 1405 Grey Ave. at 9 p.m. Thursday.

Criminal damage to property

Graffiti was sprayed on an office building in the 900 block of Davis Street between midnight Friday and 7:38 a.m. Saturday.

Driving under the influence

300 Ridge
Andrew Christopher Davis, 33, 829 Sherman Ave., was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 355 Ridge Ave. at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

2200 Crain
Shanqueata T. Jackson, 28, 2213 Crain St., was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 2209 Crain St. at 2:45 a.m. Saturday and is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Nov. 22.

Shots fired

1400 Dobson
Gunshots were reported in the 1400 block of Dobson Street at around 4:10 p.m. Saturday. The area was checked but nothing was found.

900 Forest
Gunshots were reported in the 900 block of Forest Avenue at around 2:31 p.m. Friday. The area was checked but nothing was found.

Emerson and Dodge
Gunshots were reported near the intersection of Emerson Street and Dodge Avenue at around 11 p.m. Friday. The area was checked but nothing was found.

400 Barton
Gunshots were reported in the 400 block of Barton Avenue at around 3:24 a.m. this morning. The area was checked but nothing was found.

Theft

600 Linden
Someone removed a lock and stole a bicycle from an apartment storage area in the 600 block of Linden Place between 11 a.m. Sep. 29 and 4:12 p.m. Saturday.

2400 Prairie
Someone stole an electric scooter left unattended in the yard of a single family home in the 2400 block of Prairie Avenue at around 10:47 p.m. Sunday.

700 Austin
A package containing computer hardware was taken from an apartment common area in the 700 block of Austin Street between 10 a.m. and noon Friday.

1600 Chicago
Robert John Merschantz, 36, 7729 Hermitage in Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft at 1640 Chicago Ave. at 8:22 p.m. Saturday and is due to appear in court at 9 a.m. Oct. 29.

Traffic

900 Ridge
Brayan Alejandro, 19, 1019 N. Kedvale in Chicago, was arrested and charged with a traffic violation at 900 Ridge Ave. at 12:14 p.m. Wednesday and is scheduled to appear in court at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 20.

Lake and Dodge
Twan DeAngleo Daniels-Robinson, 29, 1907 Dodge Ave., was arrested and charged with a traffic violation at Lake Street and Dodge Avenue at 5:08 p.m. Thursday and is scheduled to appear in court at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 5.

Trespass

1300 Chicago
James A. Derus, 34, 827 Dryden in Arlington Heights, was arrested and charged with trespassing at 1311 Chicago Avenue at 3 a.m. Sunday and is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Oct. 22.


Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
