Evanston police have four people in custody for questionning after at least one shot was fired during an incident on the west side Saturday night.

Cmdr. Jay Parrott says officers responding to a call of shots fired at Dempster Street and Fowler Avenue around 7 p.m. found a spent shell casing at the scene and took four subjects into custody for further investigation by detectives.

Parrott says that while a firearm was discharged, no one was hit by the gunshot.

No charges have been filed so far against those in custody.
