Four Saint Francis Hospital physicians, who are board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, serving three locations have joined Resurrection Medical Group, a group of over 260 physicians who provide primary and specialty medical care at more than 60 locations throughout Illinois.

The new practice is includes Lucy Heo, D.O., and Gina Wehrmann, M.D., who work in both the Evanston and the Skokie office, and Thomas Herriges, M.D., and Michele Bucciero, M.D., who work together in another Evanston office.

Dr. Heo earned her medical degree from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Midwestern University Affiliated Hospitals. She is a clinical instructor for University of Illinois medical students and a faculty instructor for OB/GYN resident physicians at SFH.

Fluent in English and Korean, Dr. Heo offers gynecological services for adolescents and women, including annual exams and screenings, management of menopausal symptoms, STD counseling, and irregular menstrual bleeding. “I like to build relationships with my patients, and guide them through many important stages in their lives,” said Dr. Heo.

Dr. Wehrmann earned her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, and her Pharmacy degree from Purdue University, graduating in the top 10-percent of her class.

She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Saint Francis Hospital, and she is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She teaches medical students in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Program at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

“I try to focus on making sure my patients understand what is happening inside their bodies, and I often use pictures. I really try to focus on education and that helps me build strong relationships with my patients,” said Dr. Wehrmann.

Dr. Herriges earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Columbus–Cuneo-Cabrini Medical Center. He has delivered more than 6,000 babies, and enjoys being a part of a young family’s life.

Building long-lasting relationships is part of his specialty. “In many families, I have delivered multiple siblings. In one year, I delivered four babies whose mothers I had also delivered—certainly an example of continuity of care!” said Dr. Herriges.
