Police have charged three juveniles, each from a different town, in connection with a house break-in on Saturday in the 2600 block of Prairie Avenue in north Evanston.
Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott says police responding a report of a burglary that had just occured about 10:30 a.m. were told four burglars had fled from the house on foot in different directions, but officers managed to locate four suspects, ranging in age from 14 to 17, who matched the descriptions of the thieves.
During their investigation, Parrott says, police recovered two laptop computers taken in the burglary. Three of the four youths now have been charged as juveniles with residential burglary.
One is from Evanston, another from Wheeling and the third from Des Plaines.
The fourth youth, a 17-year-old, has been released without charges pending further investigation.
