Evanston health officials reported four new COVID-19 cases among city residents today while the state reported 1.941 more.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported test results for 52,311 Illinois residents today for a positive rate of 3.7%, matching the seven-day positive rate.

The IDPH reported test results for 651 Evanston residents, close to a one-day record, and found five positive cases here for a positive rate of 1.3%

Evanston’s case count now stands at 1,064 and its death toll is 73, unchanged for over a week.

Chicago reported 248 new cases today for a total of 75,842 and four more deaths for a total of 2,923.

Suburban Cook county reported 308 more cases today for a total of 60,404 and five more deaths for a total of 2,223.

The dead in the county today ranged from a man in his 30s to a woman in here 80s.

The IDPH says 1,565 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 symptoms including 345 in the ICU and 143 of those were on ventilators.
