The National Weather Service says Evanston can expect a mix of freezing rain and snow from noon until midnight tonight.

The mix is expected to include one-tenth to two-tenths of an inch of ice this afternoon and evening along with about an inch of snow during the evening.

Slippery road conditions are exepcted to impact the evening commute.

Update 10:20 a.m.: Edgar Cano of Evanston’s Public Works Agency says we could get twice as much ice as the NWS is forecasting.

He says city crews are handling post-storm cleanup this morning and will switch to handling the new storm as soon as the precipitation starts.
