The ramen chain Furious Spoon plans to open its new Evanston location Thursday evening at 5 p.m.

The owners reportedly plan to make a splash in the increasingly crowded ramen shop scene in town by giving away free bowls of ramen to the first 100 customers.

The restaurant, in the 1700 Maple Ave. spot last occupied by Red Robin Burger Works, will have seating for 50 inside and another 40 on the patio.

Chef Shin Thompson’s chain has four locations in Chicago. The first one opened in 2015 in Wicker Park.
