An open garage door at a home in the 1400 block of Davis Street contributed to the theft of a bicycle. This among the stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.


1400 Davis

A bicycle was stolen from the garage of a home in the 1400 block of Davis Street between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 5:45 a.m. yesterday.


1454 Elmwood

Hussein M. Alsaleh, 29, of 8836 Bronx Ave., Skokie, was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday and charged with battery. He is due in court on Aug. 22 at 9 a.m.

Criminal Damage

400 Custer

Someone scratched the driver’s side door of a 2013 Ford in the driveway of a home in the 400 block of Custer Avenue around 11:12 a.m. yesterday.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
