Brad Garron topped Evanston’s runners — and the rest of the field, too — competing at the Kankakee Classic track meet on Saturday.
Garron claimed three individual gold medals in the 15-16 year-old division, and also captured a relay gold in the 17-18 division representing Evanston.
The ETHS sophomore-to-be won the 100-meter dash in 11.55 seconds, and also ruled the 200 (22.78) and 400 (52.34) in his age group.
Garron then combined with Khallidad Taylor, Malachi Adams and Babajide Bamgbose to earn first place honors in the 400 relay.
Taylor (21 feet, 2 inches in the long jump) and Ryan Christie (58.66 in the 400 hurdles) also scored first place finishes among Evanston’s entrants.
Also competing were Colin Watson, 3rd in the 400 in 53.02, and Elliott Grant, 5th in both the 110 hurdles and high jump.
