Evanston police and fire units were called to Evanston Township High School this noon after a report of a gas leak on the campus.

Police say the gas fumes came into the school building through a vent, but that firefighters were able to determine there were no dangerous levels of fumes and classes resumed at the school a few minutes ago.

Update 1:14 p.m.: Police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan says the gas leak occurred at a construction site in the 1900 block of Lake Street and some of the gas odor made it into the school, but there never any danger to the school.
