Gary Gaspard, who initially drove a cab in Evanston after immigrating to the U.S. from Haiti nearly three decades ago, now is a social worker for an agency on Chicago’s west side and is seeking to become the next Evanston township supervisor.

He was interviewed about his views on the role of the township — which many voters have said they’d like to see eliminated — during a special edition of “The Reporters.”

Gaspard says he has a plan for reforming township operations.

“The Reporters” is produced by ECTV.

Bill Smith is the editor and publisher of Evanston Now.
