Evanston has been invaded by princesses, presidents, pro athletes and a myriad of other characters.

Andy McGaughy goes all out for Hallowe’en

Evanston has about 9,000 kids in elementary and middle school, many of whom are out tonight banging on your door demanding treats. Andy McGaughy’s house on Thayer Street is a favorite with the kids. A lifelong collection of Hallowe’en decorations cover his yard and he hands out full size candy bars.

Police urge motorists to be extra careful tonight. Many children will be wearing dark costumes and won’t have traffic safety on their minds. Extra police are on patrol.

The official Trick or Treating time period in Evanston runs until 7p.m. today
