The signs were going up this week at 816-1/2 Church St. for a new business that specializes in making eyelashes thicker and darker with eyelash extensions.

Dekalash is franchise operation with 46 locations across the country including three others in the Chicago area. The new Evanston store is one of three more in the area that are in the planning stages.

The Dekalash shop will fill the vacancy created when the Title Nine women’s sportswear store closed about 15 months ago.

Meanwhile, across the street, the for-lease sign is up on the Lumen Optical shop at 809 Church St., which closed at the end of last month.

    1. Do they offer other services too?

Women in Evanston don’t even get their hair colored. How is this business going to make it? Do they offer other services as well?

      1. Eye lash extensions,

      2. J Antou Salon

Does an amazing job coloring my hair.  When I’m getting my hair colored there are many other women from Evanston there getting there hair colored as well.

      3. Not just for special occasions or students

        Hi Kara,

I’m the owner of Deka Lash, and we’re really looking forward to bringing eyelash extensions to Evanston. They’re not just for special occasions or for millennials or Gen Z; we have clients ranging in age from 20-60+ who love the way they look. No need for mascara ever again. You wake up with makeup. Wide-eyed and beautiful.

We also offer other services such as eyelash and eyebrow tints, and products geared to strengthen and fortify one’s natural lashes and brows.

I hope you check us out when we’re open to the public on 10/29. You won’t be disappointed. An appointment with Deka Lash is truly an awesome experience.
