The Giordano’s restaurant at 500 Davis St. downtown may be moving down the block and around the corner to 1527 Chicago Ave.

Ted Mavrakis, the owner of the vacant Chicago Avenue property that once housed a furniture store, has applied to the city for permission to operate a carry-out restaurant at the location, moving it from the existing site.

The proposal is on the agenda for the meeting of the city’s Site Plan and Appearance Review Committee at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The proposal would then go to the Zoning Board of Appeals and would eventually require approval of the City Council.
