Evanston police say a 16-year-old girl was injured when someone threw a brick that hit her in the head shortly after 7 this evening near the Fleetwood-Jourdain Recreation Center.

The girl was taken to Evanston Hospital by Fire Department paramedics. No immediate word on her condition, but she reportedly was able to talk to police about what happened.

The incident reportedly happened somewhere between the recreation center and a building at 2002 Jackson Ave.

Horrifying experience.  I'll hope for her, and I hope she gets emotional support if that's appropriate.
