The driver of a 2013 Chevrolet offered three subjects a ride, but needed air in his tires. When the victim got out of his car to fill up the tires, one of the three riders drove off with the vehicle.  This among stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.

THEFT

Asbury at Davis

A man who offered a ride to three unknown subjects at Asbury Avenue and Davis Street at about 3 a.m. Thursday was “rewarded” by a theft of his 2013 Chevrolet Equinox when one of the riders drove off in the vehicle while the owner was filling the tires with air.

900 Forest

A catalytic converter was removed from a 2006 Toyota in the 900 block of Forest Avenue between 6 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.

900 Colfax

A catalytic converter was removed from a 2005 Toyota in the 900 block of Colfax Street between 6:45 p.m. Thursday and 4 p.m. Saturday.

600 Chicago

Miscellaneous merchandise was stolen from the Walgreens Pharmacy in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. Friday.

BATTERY

2233 Division

Domenico DiPrizio, 60, of 7433 N. Clark St., Chicago, was arrested at 2233 W. Division St., Chicago, at 10:14 a.m. Tuesday and charged with battery.

BURGLARY

2600 Colfax

A burglar forced his way through the back door of a home in the 2600 block of Colfax Street at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday. Nothing was reported missing.

600 Lincoln

Electronic devices were taken from an unlocked 2019 BMW in the 600 block of Lincoln Street at about 12:40 p.m. yesterday.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

1800 Maple

Damage was sustained to a sleeping room at the Hilton Garden Inn in the 1800 block of Maple Avenue between noon Thursday and 1:30 p.m. yesterday.

2600 Sheridan

A window was found broken at a museum in the 2600 block of Sheridan Road at 8:05 a.m. Saturday.

300 Custer

Someone forced entry to a residence in the 300 block of Custer Avenue by damaging a deadbolt between 9 p.m. Thursday and 8:35 a.m. Friday.

2323 McDaniel

Thomas E. Chlebanowski, 31, of 472 Jeanne Court, Wood Dale, was arrested at 2323 McDaniel Ave. at 7:33 p.m. Saturday and charged with knowingly damaging property at a city park.

GRAFFITI

1400 Elmwood

Graffiti was discovered painted on the street and on the front of a building in the 1400 block of Elmwood Avenue at 3 p.m. yesterday.

2400 Emerson

Graffiti was discovered painted on an electrical box in the 2400 block of Emerson Street at 8:46 p.m. yesterday.

OTHER

6631 Claremont

Anthony Luke Davis, 30, of 6631 N. Claremont Ave., Chicago, was arrested at that address at 10:18 a.m. on March 18 and charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

700 Main

Stanley B. Hicks, 66, of 6333 N. Francisco Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 700 Main St. at 1:25 a.m. yesterday and charged with public indecency.

ROBBERY

1221 Hinman

Reginald Jones, Jr., 32, of 1114 Sherman Ave., was arrested at 1221 Hinman Ave. at 9:22 a.m.  Friday and charged with robbery.

SHOTS HEARD

100 Grey

Gunshots were reported at 8:46 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Grey Avenue. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute an assumption of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
