Graffiti discovered on downtown sidewalks

Graffiti was discovered on sidewalks in two spots in the 1200 block of Chicago Avenue and also in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue in downtown Evanston. Also two vehicles were burglarized in the 2700 block of Marcy Avenue.These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

2700 Marcy

A 2015 Acura parked unlocked in the 2700 block of Marcy Avenue was entered between 7:30 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.m. Friday. Nothing was reported taken.

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2011 Honda in the 2700 block of Marcy Avenue between 7 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.m. Friday.

Criminal Damage

1700 Maple

The windshield of a 2000 Toyota was damaged in a business parking lot in the 1700 block of Maple Avenue between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Criminal Trespass

1959 W. Howard

Liliana Arteaga, 19, of 6058 N. Mozart Ave., Chicago; Melissa C. Lewis, 30, of 7510 N. Hoyne Ave., Chicago; and Neguan M. McCress, 21, of 2001 Jarvis Ave., Chicago, were arrested at 1959 W. Howard St., Chicago, at 12:07 a.m. Friday and charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle. They are due in court on March 1 at 9 a.m.

Graffiti

700 Oakton

Graffiti was discovered in an apartment parking space in the 700 block of Oakton Street at 12:51 p.m. yesterday.

1200 Chicago

Graffiti was located at two sidewalk locations in the 1200 block of Chicago Avenue at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

1500 Sherman

Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue at 12:36 p.m. Saturday.

Other

909 Davis

William A. Kaplan, 19, of 885 Vernon, Glencoe, was arrested at 909 Davis St. at 12:54 p.m. Thursday and charged with possessing alcohol as a person under the age of 21. He is due in court on Feb. 1 at 9 a.m.

Shots Heard

700 Washington

Gunshots were reported in the 700 block of Washington Street at 12:07 a.m. today. Police checked the area but found nothing.

1800 Ashland

Gunshots were reported in the 1800 block of Ashland Avenue at 5:39 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

1200 Elmwood

A package delivered to an apartment common area in the 1200 block of Elmwood Avenue was stolen between 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday.

1700 Orrington

A cell phone was among items left unattended at the Hilton Orrington Hotel that was stolen around 2:15 p.m. Friday.

800 Emerson

Food was taken from a convenience store in the 800 block of Emerson Street around 12:30 p.m. yesterday.

1700 Sherman

Clothes were stolen from a store in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue around 7:25 p.m. Friday

900 Church

Underwear was stolen from a store in the 900 block of Church Street around 4:50 p.m. Saturday.

2100 Ridge

A package containing clothes that was delivered to an apartment common area in the 2100 block of Ridge Avenue was stolen between noon and midnight on Jan. 17.

1959 Howard

Richard Silva, 23, of 6434 N. Sacramento Ave., Chicago was arrested at 1959 W. Howard St. at 12:07 a.m. Friday and charged with stealing an automobile. He is due in court on Feb. 22 at 10:30 a.m.

7600 Western

Christopher Colvin, 26, of 6126 N. Rockwell St., Chicago, was arrested at 7600 N. Western Ave., Chicago, at 9:24 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Feb. 22 at 10:30 a.m.

350 Custer

Martin Ferreyra, 19, of 350 Custer Ave., was arrested at that address at 8:45 a.m. on Jan. 17 and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on March 1 at 10:30 a.m.

Golf at McCormick

Anthony Hardy, 53, of 4905 Louise St., Skokie, was arrested at Golf Road and McCormick Blvd. at 11:45 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation.

922 Davis

Jose Nazario Hernandez-Garcia, 28, of 6909 N. Ridge Blvd., Chicago, was arrested at 922 Davis St. at 12:11 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Feb. 14 at 9 a.m.

Paul D. Killen, 40, of 7601 244th St., Salem, Wis., was arrested at 922 Davis St. at 12:54 p.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on March 10 at 9 a.m.

Ridge at Harvard

Aubrey J. Marquez, 24, of 1715 Brown Ave., was arrested at Ridge Avenue and Harvard Terrace at 9:09 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Feb. 21 at 9 a.m.

626 Church

Dezree Shariha Price, 21, of 8900 Robin Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested at 626 Church St. at 3:02 a.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence. She is due in court on Feb. 14 at 10:30 a.m.

7450 Western

Mario A. Ruiz, 34, of 2026 W. Estes, Chicago, was arrested at 7450 N. Western Ave., Chicago, at 6:11 p.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Feb. 22 at 10:30 a.m.

500 Chicago

Rosalino Sanchez, 34, of 429 ½ Custer Ave., was arrested at 500 Chicago Ave. at 8:23 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on March 1 at 10:30 a.m.

1621 Simpson

Jerell D. Williams, 26, of 2110 Dewey Ave., was arrested at 1621 Simpson St. at 2:06 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Feb. 27 at 9 a.m.
