The Evanston Parks Coalition is planning a clean-up day at Grey Park, at Ridge Avenue and Main Street, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The group plans to plant annuals on the corner of Ridge and Main, spread wood chips provided by the city around all trees, create a border around the community garden, with the city providing materials, paint the benches and tables, and clean up trash.

Volunteers are asked to bring the following: rakes, lawn bags, wheel barrows, garden gloves, shovels and brooms. Refreshments and bagels will be provided. For additional information, contact Belén Ayestarán at

The Evanston Parks Coalition advocates for the continued maintenance, development, improvement and use of the Evanston parks system and to ensure that the parks sustain the highest level of accessibility, diversity and innovation. The coalition seeks to recruit affiliated groups that share its mission.
