A 24-year-old Evanston man treated for a gunshot wound in the thigh told police that it was all an accident and that it occurred in an alley in the 2000 block of Wesley Avenue. This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Battery

2000 Wesley

A 24-year-old Evanston man was shot in the thigh in an alley in the 2000 block of Wesley Avenue around 5:20 p.m. yesterday. He told police that the wound was self-inflicted.

901 Maple

Khalila Hussain, 30, of 901 Maple Ave., was arrested at that address at 4:57 p.m. Sunday and charged with battery. He is due in court on Oct. 2 at 9 a.m.

Burglary

1400 Washington

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2016 Honda in the 1400 block of Washington Street between 10 p.m. Thursday and 9:17 a.m. Friday.

600 Custer

Someone pried the door open to an apartment storage area in the 600 block of Custer Avenue and stole a bicycle around 11:35 a.m. Sunday.

600 Oakton

Someone broke the lock to an apartment storage area in the 600 block of Oakton Street and stole a bicycle between 6 p.m. Sunday and 9:05 a.m. yesterday.

1500 Florence

A burglar cut the screen of an open window at a home in the 1500 block of Florence Avenue between 1:30 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. Saturday and stole cash and credit cards.

Criminal Damage

1600 Benson

A window was broken on Chicago Transit Authority property in the 1600 block of Benson  Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

800 Noyes

Someone damaged the glass screen of a Bank of America automated teller machine in the 800 block of Noyes Street around 3:07 p.m. Saturday.

Criminal Trespass

2109 Emerson

Trenton Alexander Hunt, 19, of 3327 Church St., Skokie, was arrested at 2109 Emerson St. at 2:53 p.m. Saturday and charged with criminal trespass of a vehicle. He is due in court on Oct. 4 at 10:30 a.m.

Drugs

100 Kedzie

Yasmine S. Murphy, 25, of 3564 W. Cermak Road, Chicago, was arrested at 100 Kedzie St. at 12:28 a.m. today and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Graffiti

1700 Sherman

Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue at 10:48 a.m. Sunday.

Shots Heard

1900 Foster

Gunshots were reported in the 1900 block of Foster Street at 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

900 Elmwood

Gunshots were reported in the 900 block of Elmwood Avenue at 2:16 a.m. Saturday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Other

204 Washington

Loren Brown, 19, address unknown, was arrested at 204 Washington St. at 10:09 p.m. Friday and charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault.

Theft

2400 Main

A tablet computer left unattended at a grocery store in the 2400 block of Main Street was stolen between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Alcoholic products were taken from a store in the 2400 block of Main Street around 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 26.

2200 Oakton

Clothing left unattended in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Oakton Street was taken between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. yesterday.

800 Dodge

Food items were stolen from a convenience store in the 800 block of Dodge Avenue between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

100 Custer

Ryan O. Bailey, address unknown, was arrested at 100 Custer Ave. at 4:27 p.m. on Aug. 20 and charged with retail theft.

2209 Howard

Eric O. Campbell, 21, of 1246 W. 47th St., Chicago, was arrested at 2209 Howard St. at 4:36 p.m. Friday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Oct. 2 at 9 a.m.

1616 Sherman

Ravshan Ibragimov, 51, of 1458 Chicago Ave., was arrested at 1616 Sherman Ave. at 4:05 p.m. Friday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Oct. 2 at 9 a.m.

Traffic

1826 Lyons

Torry Terrill Jenkins, 41, of 534 N. Sawyer Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1826 Lyons St. at 9:46 a.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation.  

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
