Evanston police say someone fired several shot near the intersection of Asbury Avenue and Lee Street around 8 p.m. Sunday.
Cmdr. Brian Henry says bullets hit the window of a home at the intersection as well as the window of a car parked at the home and a garage door.
Henry says two callers to police reported they’d heard four shots fired.
“There was only property damage, nobody was hit,” Henry added.
Alderman Don Wilson, whose 4th Ward includes the house that was hit at 1222 Lee St., says neighbors are extremely upset and that there was a similar incident at the same property a couple of years ago.
“My impression, from the totality of the circumstances, is that this was not random,” Wilson added.
Wilson suggested that anyone with information about the incident should call police at 847-866-5000 or use the Text-A-Tip service by texting 274637 and starting the message with “EPDTIP.”
